Video: Capturing the story of Penn State's THON

Thanks to a documentary from Penn State Public Broadcasting, viewers can see some of the magic that goes on behind-the-scenes to create the Penn State Dance Marathon, or THON.

"Why We Dance: The Story of THON" will air at 8 p.m. Sept. 27 on WPSU-TV and public television stations across Pennsylvania and through a live, online stream of the premiere at http://wpsu.org/thondocumentary posted to Vimeo and YouTube at 9 p.m.

THON has raised more than $88 million since 1977 to help fight pediatric cancer through the Four Diamonds Fund.

The hour-long film introduces viewers to families supported by THON and follows Penn State THON students during their year-long effort to raise money for the fund.
