Three Rivers Classic tickets on sale

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Tickets for the Three Rivers Classic, which will feature the Penn State, Miami, Ohio State and Robert Morris men's hockey teams, are currently on sale.

Formerly known as the Pittsburgh College Hockey Invitational, the Three Rivers Classic will take place Dec. 28-29 at CONSOL Energy Center, home of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. First-round matchups for the four-team showcase have not been set.

The presale will run from 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, through 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4. During that time, fans who want to sit in one of Penn State's designated seating areas must use the presale password "NITTANY."

During the presale, tickets will only be available in two-game packages at The public sale will begin Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m., while the date for individual day sales has not been set.

The 2012-13 campaign will mark the Nittany Lions' first season at the NCAA Division I level. Led by head coach Guy Gadowsky, Penn State will play a 35-game slate, including 15 home games at Greenberg Ice Pavilion. In addition to their two games in Pittsburgh, the Nittany Lions will play in their second NHL venue when they battle Vermont at the Wells Fargo Center, home of the Philadelphia Flyers, Jan. 19.
