'Race to Nowhere' screening set for Nov. 30

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A screening and discussion of the documentary "Race to Nowhere" will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 30) in the Foster Auditorium at Pattee Library.

Vicki Abeles, creator of the film, examines the U.S. education system and claims that the country's schools are not getting the job done. Following the film, a 40- to 45-minute small-group discussion will be facilitated by Penn State undergraduate teacher candidates to offer a critical examination of Abeles’ provocative narrative.

The screening is led by Education undergraduate and graduate students. The Education and Behavioral Sciences Library, and the Education Policy Studies Student Organization will co-sponsor the event.

This event is free and open to the public. For questions, please contact Roi Kawai at rik5127@psu.edu.
