Beaver campus and ShaleTEC partner to offer Safeland course

The Penn State Beaver Office of Continuing Education and the Shale Training and Education Center (ShaleTEC) at Pennsylvania College of Technology have partnered to offer a SafeLand course in December.

ShaleTEC, a collaboration between Penn College and Penn State Extension, provides a wide variety of resources to the community and the oil and gas industry.

The SafeLand course will be offered at Beaver campus, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19. The course also will be offered at the same time at other locations on the following days: Thursday, Dec. 13; Tuesday, Dec. 18; Friday, Dec. 21, and Thursday, Dec. 27.

Future courses will include Hazard Recognition, Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness, and Confined Space.

Anyone enrolled in shale training programs at Beaver will have access to a wide range of resources offered by ShaleTEC, which addresses a multitude of training and education needs in the natural gas industry.

As an affiliate of ShaleTEC, Beaver campus will offer expanded curriculum and instructional capability needed to train and educate existing employees of gas companies, as well as those who want to enter the natural gas industry.
