Schreyer Institute plans workshops for Jan. 23, 24

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will be offering the following workshops this month in 315 Rider Building:

-- Andrew Porter and Lauren Kooistra, graduate consultants with the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will lead “Getting Through the Stack” from 1:45 to 3 p.m. Jan. 23.

This workshop offers strategies for efficient and effective grading. Grading rubrics, time-saving strategies, and ways to provide meaningful, learner-centered feedback on assignments and exams will be discussed. Participants are free to bring their own beverages and lunch. -- Kathy Jackson, senior instructional designer, and Larkin Hood, instructional designer, with the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will lead “Analyzing Your Student Evaluations” from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 24.
