This month the Penn State Beaver Admissions Office is offering free programs for prospective students of all ages and their families.
The Be a Penn State Student for a Day program will be offered 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 13, in the Student Union Building. Participants will spend time as a college student by attending a variety of classes and having lunch with current Beaver campus students. Reservations are required.
An Application Workshop will be held 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Admissions Office, Student Union Building. Participants can complete an application and those applying to Beaver campus may receive an immediate decision. The $50 application fee will be waived, and all are asked to bring official transcripts. Campus tours also will be available.
A Financial Aid Workshop will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 18, in the auditorium of the Student Union Building. Participants will be introduced to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and staff members will offer tips on navigating potential pitfalls in financing a college education.
A special Lunchtime Financial Aid Seminar will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 18, in the campus auditorium. The program is open to current and future Penn State students and their families, and will provide all the necessary information on how to file the FAFSA successfully and easily. The seminar is ideal for those with a busy schedule who want to learn the basics of financial aid.
A FAFSA Line-by-Line Workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 23, in the computer lab of the Laboratory Classroom Building. Participants are asked to bring tax forms and financial documents so that staff member can guide everyone through the form, line by line. Registration for this event is required.
