White Coat Ceremony 4

Harold L. Paz, senior vice president for health affairs, dean of the College of Medicine and chief executive officer of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, welcomes an incoming member of the Class of 2013 during the annual White Coat Ceremony. During the ceremony, members of the class of 2013 receive their first white medical coats, symbols of their entrance into the medical profession as student physicians. A white coat ceremony or similar rite of passage takes place at more than 90 percent of schools of medicine and osteopathy in the United States.
