The Penn State women's track and field team captured its fifth Big Ten Outdoor Championship on Sunday on the strength of four individual champions, a championship in the 4x400 relay, a new Big Ten Championships record and a new school record. The Penn State men finished sixth, just two points shy of fourth place, with three Big Ten champions and a runner-up.

Hill wins Field Athlete of the Year, Alford-Sullivan Women's Coach of the Year
On the strength of a season-best throw in the shot put at the Big Ten Championships, Penn State's Darrell Hill (Philadelphia, Pa.) earned Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year and Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships. Nittany Lion Head Coach and Director of Track and Field Beth Alford-Sullivan was named Big Ten Women's Coach of the Year for the second straight year after leading Penn State to back-to-back outdoor titles.

All-America linebacker Shane Conlan elected to College Football Hall of Fame
Former Penn State All-America linebacker Shane Conlan, the leader of the Nittany Lions' tenacious 1985-86 defenses, has been elected to the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame. Conlan is the 18th Penn State player to receive college football's ultimate honor.

Russ Rose, Penn State women's volleyball head coach, has had unprecedented success over a 35-year career in Happy Valley, including five national championships in the last seven years. Kaut earns school-record third All-America honor
Arguably the most successful Nittany Lion in the 101-year history of Penn State men's lacrosse, goalkeeper Austin Kaut (Morton, Pa.) was named to a record third straight All-America team on May 22. Fellow senior Shane Sturgis (Downingtown, Pa.) garnered Honorable Mention All-America.

Kaut garners USILA Scholar All-American honor
Goalkeeper Austin Kaut (Morton, Pa.) was named a Scholar All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. Kaut is the eighth Nittany Lion to achieve the recognition and the third under head coach Jeff Tambroni in as many years.

Men's lacrosse junior Sexton claims spot on English National Team
Midfielder Matt Sexton (Niskayuna, N.Y.) was named to the final 23-man English National Team on Wednesday ahead of the 2014 FIL World Championships. England will compete in the Blue Division with favorites United States, Canada, Iroquois Nationals, Japan and Australia.

Big Ten schools to again use bowl revenues to support children
For the second consecutive year, Big Ten Conference officials have approved the equal distribution of what would have been Penn State's share of football bowl game revenues to 2013-14 Big Ten member universities. Penn State's portion of the funds will go to two local child-focused organizations again this year to further promote their missions.
