Penn State to host Virginia Tech in 2014 ACC/Big Ten Challenge
Virginia Tech will visit the Bryce Jordan Center for the 2014 ACC/Ten Challenge on the final day of the three-night annual event presented by Dick's Sporting Goods, Wednesday, Dec. 3. Tip times and networks will be announced by ESPN in August.

Men's volleyball comes up short in NCAA Semifinal
The 2014 Penn State men's volleyball season came to a close in the NCAA national semifinals, as the fifth-seeded No. 12 Nittany Lions (25-7) came up just short in a close 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 11-15) loss to No. 1 overall seed Loyola Chicago (28-1) Thursday evening at Gentile Arena.

Kaut makes history as six Lions earn All-CAA honors
Thursday proved to be a banner day for senior goalie Austin Kaut (Morton, Pa.) as he led a cast of six Nittany Lions on the All-Colonial Athletic Association teams. Kaut was named Defensive Player of the Year for a second straight season and became the first to earn four straight nods on the All-CAA First Team.

Purvis claims ALC Defensive Player of the Year
Senior defender Lauren Purvis (Maple Glen, Pa.) of the No. 7/8 Penn State women's lacrosse team was named the American Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Year, as the league announced its major award winners and all-conference teams Thursday morning.

Women's lacrosse falls to Johns Hopkins in ALC first round
Attacker Maggie McCormick (Eldersburg, Md.) and midfielder Tatum Coffey (Toms River, N.J.) netted three goals each, but the No. 7/8 Penn State women's lacrosse team fell to No. 8/6 Johns Hopkins, 13-10, in the first round of the ALC championships at Northwestern's Lakeside Field Thursday afternoon.

Men's tennis moves to No. 23 in ITA Poll
The Penn State men's tennis team moved up one spot to 23rd in this week's ITA Poll, released Thursday. The Nittany Lions are 21-5 and earned a berth to the NCAA Tournament, where they will take on No. 50 UNC Wilmington in the first round.

Bader, Stakhovsky named to All-Big Ten teams
The No. 24 Penn State men's tennis team had two members named to the All-Big Ten teams, named April 24. The honors are the latest mark of success for the 2014 Nittany Lions. Sophomore Leonard Stakhovsky (Kiev, Ukraine) was a unanimous selection to the First Team, while senior Russell Bader (Austin, Texas) was named to the Second Team.

Ceresko selected to All-Big Ten Second Team
Junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team, conference officials announced April 29. This marks the first time a Penn State women's golfer was named to the first or second team All-Big Ten since Maggie Lester was named to the second team in 2006. Ceresko led the Nittany Lions in overall average with a 74.2 and tied for the team lead with five Top-15 finishes this season, highlighted by her fourth place finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational.

Softball hosts Illini in final regular season series
Penn State softball closes out the 2014 regular season this weekend with a three-game series vs. Illinois. The Nittany Lions and the Fighting Illini open the series at 6 p.m. on Friday and return to the field on Saturday at 3 p.m. for game two before closing the series on Sunday in a 10:30 a.m. matchup. All three games will be streamed live on the Big Ten Digital Network.

Men's golf set for Big Ten Championships
The Penn State men's golf team will conclude its 2013-14 campaign in French Lick, Ind. for the 2014 Big Ten Championships May 2-4 at the Pete Dye Course.

Lady Lions sign Dominique Brooks to NLI
The three-time defending Big Ten Champion Penn State Lady Lions have signed junior college transfer Dominique Brooks (Lansing, Ill./T.F. South/Trinity Valley C.C.) to a National Letter of Intent. Brooks comes to Penn State after two seasons at back-to-back NJCAA National Champion Trinity Valley Community College. She will join the Lady Lions in July and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
