Collaboration with industry shapes 25 years of Center for Supply Chain Research
The Penn State Smeal College of Business Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR) celebrated its 25th anniversary at its spring 2014 Corporate Sponsor meeting, held at the end of April at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. The Corporate Sponsorship Program aims to create comprehensive research and education partnerships between the University and industry-leading firms with the center as the integral link.

Real Estate Association students tour World Trade Center site in New York City
In April, about 10 Penn State Real Estate Association students visited Silverstein Properties Inc. headquarters in New York City and toured the World Trade Center site. The students were invited by University alumnus Jonathan W. Knipe, senior vice president and general counsel for Silverstein Properties and member of the Smeal College of Business Institute for Real Estate Studies advisory board.

Smeal professor balances supply and demand with honors program
Robert Novack, an assistant professor in the Smeal College of Business, introduced Schreyer Honors College students to the business of supply chain management by taking groups on tours of warehouses and distribution centers in Pennsylvania. The trips were part of Novack's participation in the honors college's Distinguished Honors Faculty Program.

Brian Cameron tapped to lead Smeal's professional master's programs
The Penn State Smeal College of Business will add a new associate dean position to its administration this fall. Brian Cameron, currently with the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST), will join Smeal as the new associate dean for professional master's programs.

Smeal Alumni in Profile: Doctoral grad begins career at top real estate program
James Conklin earned his doctoral degree from the Penn State Smeal College of Business Ph.D. program in real estate as part of the class of 2014. This summer, he'll begin his new position at the University of Georgia in one of the top real estate programs in the country.

Smeal College alumnus helps student organizations develop leadership skills
Involvement in student organizations can provide many students with leadership experience before they graduate. To further bolster student leaders' skills, the Penn State Smeal College of Business Career and Corporate Connections (C&CC) office collaborated with 2004 Smeal marketing alumnus Roger Osorio to provide student leaders with a series of workshops to help strengthen their leadership skills and run more effective organizations.
