Student killed in accident returning from THON canning trip

A Penn State student died in a one-vehicle accident yesterday (Sept. 27) on the Pennsylvania Turnpike involving seven students in the car returning from a trip to solicit donations for THON, a student-run philanthropy at the University. Details of the accident that occurred in Charlestown Township, Chester County, are still being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police and it is unclear at this point how the accident occurred.  Full story

Ethics and Compliance announces new investigations specialist

Jeff Bowman has joined Penn State’s Office of Ethics and Compliance as the new compliance specialist – investigations. With more than 20 years of investigative experience, Bowman will be responsible for the Penn State Hotline and other misconduct matters managed by the Ethics and Compliance Department.  Full story

Graduate School announces five new recognition awards

Who is that sitting on the bench outside The Bradley Building at Penn State York? It is the Penn State Nittany Lion, thanks to the generous donation of the Penn State Alumni Society. A dedication of the Nittany Lion bench and adjacent garden took place on Sept. 23.  Full story
