Environmental science students complete sustainability projects
This spring, six groups of students in Mahsa Kazempour's BI SC 003 Environmental Science course at Penn State Berks have been working with John Rost, research technician for horticulture and turfgrass, on several projects related to pollinators and other sustainability efforts on campus.

Berks' bees subject of student's independent study
During the month of April, science major Cassandra Darnell can be found setting up her honey bee boxes at Penn State Berks. For Darnell, the boxes are part of an ongoing independent study she is completing for her degree about the bees on the Berks campus. The bees will also provide benefits to the campus as pollinators.

Greeks CARE finishes first year of working to combat sexual violence
After participating in the inaugural year of Greeks CARE, approximately 160 students from various Penn State fraternities and sororities now have the tools to examine their roles in preventing sexual violence, supporting survivors and facilitating culture change within the Greek community and beyond.

In "Revolutionary Dissent: How the Founding Generation Created the Freedom of Speech," author and Penn State alumnus Stephen Solomon uses a series of chronological narratives to explore how Americans of the Revolutionary period employed robust speech against the British and against each other to form the country's political character — intemperate and sometimes mean-spirited — that remains more than 240 years later.

Update on resources available to students impacted by apartment fire
Penn State is continuing to work to provide aid and support to students displaced by a three-alarm fire on April 20 at an off-campus apartment building. On April 22 the University announced additional services, resources and support for those students from the Office of Student and Family Services and other University offices.
