Penn State artifacts from 1957 saw the light of day for the first time in more than a half century on July 16 when a time capsule was opened at Hibbs Hall on Penn State's University Park campus. Discovered June 16, 2014, the capsule was found inside the date stone of Hibbs Hall by a construction and renovation crew.

A Penn State Faculty-Staff directory was one of many fascinating artifacts found in a time capsule discovered in the dedication block of Hibbs Hall during renovations and construction. The time capsule was sealed into the residence hall entry way in 1957 and was opened during a ceremony held July 16.
