Hundreds of students gave time to community service projects March 1 as part of the State Day of Service 2014 organized by the Council of LionHearts at Penn State.

Lindsay Stoffer, a sophmore from Spring Mills, Pa., painted walls at the State College School District's 154 W. Nittany Ave. location March 1 as part of the State Day of Service. Penn State students from the Delta Theta Sigma and Alpha Zeta agricultural societies were sprucing up areas used by the district's Delta Program.
Ben Miller, a freshman from Northeast, Md., helped Jim Fogelman, plant supervisor, clean up the State College School District's Community Education area at 411 S. Fraser St. during the State Day of Service on March 1. The students were from the Delta Theta Sigma and Alpha Zeta agricultural societies.
