UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Transportation Services has announced event parking information for Movin' On 2016, to be held Friday, April 29.

Penn State's annual student-run music festival, open only to individuals age 18 and older, will be held at the Blue Band Field, located at the corner of University Drive Extension and Services Road, with the first act scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Event parking

Event parking will be available for $5 (cash only) at Stadium West, located west of Beaver Stadium and accessible only from Park Avenue. Vehicles displaying a valid Penn State parking permit will not be subject to the event parking fee.

Visitors parking at Stadium West are encouraged to use the sidewalk along University Drive to walk to and from the festival area.

Please note that tailgating for Movin' On is prohibited, and no overnight parking is permitted in any of the commuter lots (Stadium West, Lot 44, Porter North).

No event parking at lots near Blue Band Field

All parking lots in the immediate vicinity of the Blue Band Field will be reserved for faculty, staff and students with a valid Penn State parking permit beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 29. No visitor parking in these lots, or use of the Orange A Katz pay station or Orange A meters, will be permitted until the conclusion of Movin' On. In addition, no parking will be permitted in the gravel areas along University Drive Extension on Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29.

Traffic advisory

To accommodate the Movin' On stage and event area, Services Road will be closed from the Blue Band Building to University Drive Extension on Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29. Access to Big Hollow Road and all buildings on Services Road will be available only by traveling north on Bigler Road from Park Avenue.

With thousands of students and visitors expected to travel on foot from the core of campus to the Blue Band Field for Movin' On, drivers are urged to use caution while traveling on campus on Friday, April 29, especially in areas along Park Avenue, University Drive, Bigler Road and Services Road. In addition, travelers should allow extra time to reach their destinations, as pedestrian and vehicle traffic for Movin' On, as well as vehicle traffic for the Penn State softball and baseball games scheduled for Friday evening, may cause delays on campus roadways on Friday.

Campus Shuttle impacts

On Thursday, April 28, and Friday, April 29, the Campus Shuttle will travel through Lot Orange A near Katz Building after making its normal stop (stop No. 16) along Bigler Road. From there, shuttles will travel west on Services Road, requiring stop No. 17 at Business Services to be moved to the westbound side of Services Road.

With Campus Shuttle stops 18 (Big Hollow), 19 (Hazmat Building) and 20 (Ag Research) already closed due to construction, shuttles will then proceed south on Bigler Road, east on Park Avenue, and north on University Drive Extension, where they complete their normal stops in this area at stops 21 (USB I & II) and 22 (Blue Band).
