Playing without senior leader Jamelle Cornley, out with an injured left shoulder, Penn State got 58 points and 30 rebounds from its underclassmen as it sent Rhode Island packing, 83-72, in the second round of the National Invitation Tournament Thursday. Starter Andrew Jones played a big role as well, as racked up 14 points on the night, including two here.

A very enthusiastic Pep Band kept the crowd engaged with their playing. At 29 musicians, the band is smaller than during the season, because they are limited in size by NIT regulations.
