Aron Ralston, the outdoorsman that inspired the film '127 hours' was the final speaker in the 2011-12 Penn State Distinguished Speaker Series on April 5 at Eisenhower Auditorium on Penn State's University Park campus. In 2003 Ralston chose to amputate his right arm below the elbow in order to survive being pinned down by a boulder in a Utah canyon. The Distinguished Speaker Series is hosted by Penn State's Student Programming Association.
