Senior broadcast journalism student Josh Fink, right, interviewed Penn State junior Andrew Fuller on Sept. 13 in front of Old Main on the University Park campus. Fink was filming a story for the student produced "Centre County Report," a weekly program that airs on WPSU-TV. In the spring of 2011 "Centre County Report" was named one of the nation's top three student newscasts by the Society of Professional Journalists. The Penn State Black Caucus held a candlelight vigil at 9:11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, outside of Old Main on the University Park campus to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on America. Participants shared personal memories, prayed and offered a moment of silence for the thousands of lives lost on 9/11.

The rain throughout the week didn't stop Penn State students from populating "Paternoville" in anticipation of the Sept. 10 football game vs. Alabama. "Paternoville", located outside Gate A at Beaver Stadium, has become a fall tradition where Penn State students camp at the stadium in order to guarantee themselves a rail-side seat for games.

Penn State President Graham B. Spanier reviewed a copy of this year's State of the University Address at his desk in Old Main on Sept. 6. Spanier will deliver the address to the University's Board of Trustees at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9. The entire University community will be able to watch the speech live on the Web at wpsu.org/live and the video will be archived and made available for future viewing.

Exchange students from St. Polten, Austria, visited the All-Sports Museum on Penn State's University Park campus on Sept. 1. The high school students are part of a sister- city exchange program with Altoona, Pa. Their visit to the museum included an opportunity to try on the familiar Penn State football uniform and pose for some photos.
