Penn State freshmen took part in the 'Be a Part from the Start' rally at Rec Hall on Aug. 20. 'Be a Part from the Start' featured the Blue Band, Lionettes Dance Team, cheerleaders and the Nittany Lion, and is designed to get new students fired up and ready to cheer during the upcoming football season.

Penn State students created their own tie-dye shirts during the Center for Performing Arts' annual Student Patio Party on Sept. 7 at Eisenhower Auditorium. The event included food, prizes and activities for students at University Park as well as discount tickets on all shows coming to Eisenhower Auditorium this season.

None of the Above, the oldest co-ed a cappella group at Penn State, performed on Aug. 20 during Convocation ceremonies held at the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State's University Park campus. Convocation annually marks the beginning of the new academic year and is the official welcoming event for new freshmen students.

Members of the OPP Crew work to place floor mats to build the THON dance floor in the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State's University Park campus. The crew has been busy since 5 a.m. transforming the BJC into THON Central for the weekend. Doors open at 4 p.m. and THON kicks off at 6. Nittany Lion running back Silas Redd celebrated the Penn State victory over Illinois at Beaver Stadium on Oct. 29 with fans in the student section. Redd led the Penn State offense with 139 yards on 30 carries and scored the game-winning touchdown.
