William Silverberg of Lehigh County received a participation medal in the 100 meter walk at the 2012 Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games held June 7 to 9 on Penn State's University Park campus. William's medal was presented by Centre County Dairy Princess Heather Wasson.
Special Olympics 2012-02
Competitors in the 100 meter walk prepared for the start of the race on June 8 at the 2012 Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games held on Penn State's University Park campus. The annual event, held each year at Penn State, brings together more than 2,000 athletes and 750 coaches from across the state of Pennsylvania.

Shayna Wimer of Beaver County competed in the long jump on June 8 at the Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games held on Penn State's University Park campus. Shayna also competed in the 100 meter walk and the softball throw competitions held at the Penn State Track.

Royaldean Lupold of Chester County prepared to take her horse Leibling 'Libby' into the ring for the equestrian trail competition on June 8 at Penn State's Snider Agricultural Arena. Lupold is one of more than 2,000 athletes visiting Penn State for the 2012 Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games.

Swimmer Brittany Clark participated in races on June 8 at the McCoy Natatorium on Penn State's University Park campus during the 2012 Pennsylvania Special Olympics aquatics competition. Brittany represented the Area M team, a group of athletes in Dauphin County.

David Difino of Delaware County competed in a tennis singles match on June 8 during the 2012 Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games held at venues around Penn State's University Park campus. The Special Olympics will continue with fun events and competitions on the University Park campus through June 9.

Jordan Pierce took his turn at bat during the softball competition at the 2012 Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games held June 8 on Penn State's University Park campus. Jordan plays for the Delco Storm, a softball team representing Delaware County at this year's competition.
