Screening and discussion of documentary 'Bag It'

Join the Penn State Brandywine community for a screening and discussion of the movie "Bag It," a documentary about our use of bags and other plastics, where they end up and at what cost to our environment, marine life and human health. The discussion will be led by local business owner and Media Environmental Advisory Councilman Brian Taussig-Lux.

Try going a day without plastic. Plastic is everywhere and infiltrates our lives in unimaginable and frightening ways. In this touching and often funny movie, we follow “everyman” Jeb Berrier, who is admittedly not a tree hugger, as he embarks on a global tour to unravel the complexities of our plastic world. What starts as a movie about plastic bags evolves into an investigation into plastic and its impacts on our waterways, oceans and even our own bodies. We see how our crazy-for-plastic world has finally caught up to us and what we can do about it. Today. Right now.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The program is sponsored by the Penn State Brandywine Sustainability Committee. For more information, contact Mark Boudreau at mab90@psu.edu.
