Five Lehigh Valley campus students have joined the roughly 60 "faces" already named as part of the University's Faces of Penn State campaign. Mandy Marquardt, Patrick Hullihen, Digisha Patel, Jessica Raad and Anthony Toczek have contributed to improving the world through their inspiring research and worldwide reach.

Faculty, staff, students and families gathered in the auditorium on Wednesday, April 10, for Penn State Lehigh Valley’s first Student Life and Athletics Awards Banquet. The campus honored students who showed exceptional character, dedication, sportsmanship and at least a 3.0 GPA.

Twenty-five students submitted their research projects for consideration during Penn State Lehigh Valley's annual Undergraduate Research Symposium held on April 4 at the campus in Center Valley. First, second and third place awards were bestowed on the top projects in both the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), and arts and humanities categories.

During the month of April, Penn State Lehigh Valley Art faculty will work with students, classroom teachers and Penn State Lehigh Valley student teachers to create art with third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students at McKinley Elementary School in the Allentown School District (ASD). The results will be on display in the Gallery at Penn State Lehigh Valley from May 1 to 25. An opening reception will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 9. The reception is free and open to the public.

Penn State Lehigh Valley will hold a wellness fair for the campus community from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, in the auditorium (Room 135).

Students from MUSIC 054, Beginning Guitar Class, will perform on campus for their class final at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the music room. Students have been creating their own rendition of songs of their choice. Each student will perform two or three songs with familiar tunes from the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Bruno Mars scheduled to be played. This event is free and open to the public.

Penn State Lehigh Valley will host four invited lecturers as part of its spring Faculty Lecture Series during the month of April. The series kicks off on April 4 during the campus' annual Undergraduate Research Symposium with keynote speaker Eric S. Boyd, assistant research professor at Montana State University. All series events are free and open to the public.

Penn State Lehigh Valley is offering two-week, half-day youth camps from July 8-19. Camps are available in writing, visual arts, math and engineering and are geared toward students entering grades one through twelve. Camps are offered in the morning (9 a.m.-noon) or the afternoon (1-4 p.m.).
