Penn State Altoona Athletics now has a UStream channel, allowing for the streaming of live video and audio of sporting events. Throughout the athletics season, various games and events will be broadcast live over the Internet via the UStream channel. Visit www.altoona.psu.edu/sports/ to see which home games will feature a live broadcast. You will also find a schedule of Upcoming Shows near the bottom of the UStream page.

This month, the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity is celebrating its 20th year at Penn State Altoona. A reunion was organized in early November at the Cesare Batisitti for all active members and alums. Formed at the campus in 1992, the fraternity works to uphold the principal values set forth by the Grand Chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa, which include the betterment of its brothers and of its communities.

Artists are being called for the 2013-14 Ivyside Juried Art Exhibition at Penn State Altoona. Submissions can be made online, beginning Dec. 1, at https://psualtoona.slideroom.com/. The deadline to submit is March 1. There is a $10 submission fee, and applicants will need to post an artist's statement, vitae and imagery.

A collection of music by student Jarrett Ammerman will be available for download Dec. 7, with all of the money from the downloads going directly to the VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

The Chronicle of Higher Education reported on Oct. 28 that Penn State continues to lead the nation in outgoing Fulbright grants with six awards to faculty at the University Park campus. Also, faculty at Penn State Altoona and Hershey Medical Center also received awards, and another faculty member at University Park received a short-term Specialist award. These awards enable faculty and staff members to engage in research, teaching and seminars in countries around the world.

Jerry Zolten, associate professor of communication arts and sciences at Penn State Altoona, remembered Isaac "Dickie" Freeman, bass singer of the Fairfield Four, who passed away Oct. 16 in Nashville, Tenn. Freeman and the Fairfield Four are best known for their appearance in the film "O Brother Where Art Thou" and their Grammy-winning albums on the Warner Brothers label. Jerry Zolten, associate professor of communication arts and sciences, remembers Isaac "Dickie" Freeman, bass singer of the Fairfield Four.

Penn State Altoona is taking steps to ensure its students have the opportunity to vote in the upcoming presidential election. The Office of Student Conduct will provide a van to shuttle students to and from polling locations. The van will run from 2 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and take students without transportation to four major polling areas. Information on the Penn State Altoona Office of Student Conduct Facebook page will be updated with a detailed van schedule as election day draws closer.
